I graduated from Ball State University in 2011 with a BFA in Ceramics and a BS in All-Grade Visual Arts Education. I was fortunate enough to get to teach high school art for a handful of years before transitioning into my current career path. My life is now everything clay; work and play! I’ve just finished my 4th year working for a company I’ve always loved and respected, The American Art Clay Company (AMACO). I am the Brent Repair Technician (fixing current model wheels and those dating back to the 70’s), and also do educational outreach. I absolutely love traveling the country teaching workshops for art teachers. More recently I’ve developed an equipment workshop format where I can help colleges, universities, and art centers keep their equipment running strong. I am thoroughly enjoying living a ceramic-centered life full of adventures and non-stop learning.
My current body of work where I seek the tension and energy the negative space creates in each piece, and to create undulating surfaces capable of showcasing the wonderful variety of wood fired surfaces.
